Baselines are a PRO feature. See licensing and trial info.
Baselines let you compare the current schedule against an original plan. When enabled, each task renders a secondary bar beneath the main task bar showing where the task was originally planned to start and end. This makes schedule slippage immediately visible.

Set baselines={true} on the <Gantt> component to enable baseline rendering:

Baseline Fields on Tasks

Baseline data is stored directly on each task object using three reserved fields:
A task only renders a baseline bar if at least base_start and base_end are defined. Tasks without baseline fields display normally with no secondary bar.

Increasing cellHeight (as shown above) gives baseline bars more vertical space so they are easy to distinguish from the main task bar.

How Baselines Are Rendered

  • Each task row renders its main bar at the normal vertical position.
  • A second, smaller bar is drawn below it using the base_start and base_end values.
  • The baseline bar uses a distinct visual style (typically a muted/outlined style) so it is clearly differentiated from the current schedule.
  • Tasks with no baseline fields are unaffected and render as normal.
Baselines can be combined with Rollups — baseline bars are included in rollup rendering when both features are active simultaneously.
